Europa League: Leverkusen Eye Home Win Streak

Bayer Leverkusen are in a prime spot to extend their winning streak at home in the UEFA Europa League when they host Qarabag FK on Thursday.

The German club has won all three of their home games in this season's competition, scoring 10 goals and conceding just one. They will be looking to continue that form against a Qarabag side that has lost both of their away games in the Europa League this season.

This will be the third meeting between the two sides in all competitions, with Leverkusen winning the previous two encounters. The most recent meeting came in the 2016/17 Europa League group stage, with Leverkusen winning 2-1 at home and 3-0 away.

Leverkusen will be without the suspended Edmond Tapsoba for the game, but they will be boosted by the return of Florian Wirtz. The 18-year-old midfielder has been in excellent form for Leverkusen this season, scoring four goals and providing three assists in all competitions.

Qarabag will be looking to cause an upset and reach the semi-finals of the Europa League for the first time. The Azerbaijani club has surprised many this season, reaching the quarter-finals after finishing second in their group behind Sevilla.

Qarabag will be without the injured Gara Garayev for the game, but they will be boosted by the return of Filip Ozobic. The Croatian midfielder has been in good form for Qarabag this season, scoring three goals and providing two assists in all competitions.
