Bbcqt Hashtag Twitter

BBC Question Time's Twitter experiment

Social media users to grill panellists

The weekly political discussion show BBC Question Time is to broadcast live on Twitter as part of a new experiment.

The show's producers will open a special Twitter hashtag #bbcqt for the duration of each programme, allowing viewers to tweet questions directly to the panellists.

The show's presenter, David Dimbleby, will incorporate some of the best questions into the debate.

"This is an exciting development for Question Time," said Mr Dimbleby.

"We've been keen to find a way to engage more directly with the audience and Twitter provides us with a fantastic opportunity to do just that."

The #bbcqt hashtag has previously been used by viewers to comment on the show, but this is the first time it will be used to directly interact with the panellists.

The first Question Time Twitter experiment will take place on Thursday, 1 October, at 10.45pm.

Those wanting to ask questions should use the #bbcqt hashtag when they tweet.

You can join the conversation on social media using the hashtag bbcqt or bbcquestiontime on Twitter.

On 24 September 2009 the show launched its Twitter presence and the show's presenter has regularly announced its presence on Twitter..
