How to become a registered teacher and apply for jobs in Victorian government schools
Before registering you must have the right:
- Citizenship and residency status
- Academic qualifications
- Working with Children Check
- Immunisation status
- National Police Certificate
Once you have all the necessary requirements, you can register with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT). The VIT is the regulatory authority for the teaching profession in Victoria. It sets standards for teacher education and registration, and issues teaching certificates and registration cards.
