Brewers Reliever Suffers Setback

Devin Williams to Miss Three Months with Stress Fractures

Brewers Reliever Suffers Setback

Milwaukee Brewers right-handed reliever Devin Williams will miss three months of action due to multiple stress fractures in his T12 vertebra. Williams, who has been a key part of the Brewers' bullpen in recent years, will not be available to pitch until late August at the earliest.

Williams has enjoyed a successful career with the Brewers, winning the NL Reliever of the Year Award in 2020 and helping the team reach the playoffs in each of the past three seasons. The 28-year-old has a 36-87 record with a 1.53 ERA in 244 career appearances.

The Brewers will now be without one of their most reliable bullpen arms for a significant stretch of the season. Williams is expected to begin rehabilitation in the coming weeks, but it is unclear when he will be ready to return to the mound.
